In person practice

Sir,

Can a son in her mothers case u/s 494 of I.P.C can practice in person, if she does not have any legal knowledge and no lawyer is hired.

If the son is an advocate he can, otherwise not.

If that person doesn't have any legal knowledge, then it would be harmfull for the decision of the case of his mother under section 494 IPC.

Son must be an advocate properly enrolled in the bar council,  to represent the mother.
