Huf or self acquired property??

Hi,

My great grandfather got a property as a gift. Then through succession it was passed to my grandfather and after that to my father. My grandfather had two daughters and two sons (all married). His sons passed away in early age . That time my grandfather gave his daughters and sons' wives some share in the property. After my grandfather passed away his wife adopted her daughter's son (i.e. her grandson) , who was my father. So through succession my father got that property which was owned only by himself. As my father was single when he was bearing the property given to him does that property remain HUF or it changes to self acquired??

The property is HUF property as it passes through succeding heirs.

I got to know that, when a single person receives HUF property through succession who is nt having his own family then the property status changes to self acquired. Is it true?
