Gratuity related enquiry

Iam a regular Assistant prof. In a govt. aided college on management post since 2006. In case i resign from my post am i entitled for gratuity for my service? Please suggest the document in support of it as my organisation asserts that gratuity is a benefit of superannuation only.

Gratuity and Superannuation per se can be different and employee can be eligible for both.

You may first determine which Gratuity Rule applies in your case; say Payment of Gratuity Act.

You may also download policy of employer on 'Superannuation'.

You may share both rules and policy.

If you satisfy the conditions you must get Superannuation and Gratuity.

Teachers (private) have been included in the category of employees eligible for Payment of Gratuity w.e.f.1997.
