IN ASSAM WE ARE CELEBRATING RONGALI BIHU ..THE festival of SPRING, LOVE and joy....with boomimg orchids and other flowers with sweet fragrance..music everywhere with DHOL, PEPA(a musical instrument made from buffalo horn), gagana(two other musical instrument made from bamboo)..
special bihu food like combination of curd, rice flake and locally made jaggery, ladoo from coconut and sesame, dyr pan cakes with grated coconut or sesame..
this bihu is celebrated for seven days.On the first day domestic cows and bulls are given bath with termeric, urad dal and mustard oil paste.In the evening they are greeted by owner with blow by bamboo fan, with new rope to bind them in cow shed.Thus they were made ready for next season of farming..............lotsssss more....
