Food adulteration

I required a small help by you all that if we buy a food product e.g a ghee which is commonly used in everyone's house and we dont know whether it is adulterated or non adulterated. My question was that are there any laws which can held the person selling adulterated food and any laboratory for testing such food products or any complaint forum about that practice. Thank you
