Hello ,
I visited my in-laws during October . During my visit an alleged theft happened in their neighbouhood . I did not know anything about the theft . I left for my home the next day . After some time I came to know that an FIR has been filed against my in -laws and me under section 406 for this theft as the complainant suspected them .
The police never called me for investigation . My in -laws were questioned and let off . The FIR has my name only by association . Since I was present , my name is included as accused and a partner in crime . I am not sure what i can i do in this regard ,since i am living in different state . My questions are follows :-
1. How can FIR against me be quashed ?
2. What action can i take against this false complaint ?
3. how long does police take to file a chargesheet in this case .
