I am son of a retired Indian Army Personnel. My father worked as an armed guard in Central Bank of India Branch: Delhi Cantt (New Delhi) for approx 26 yrs after retirement from army. My father passed away in the harness on 2 nd Dec 2011 due to internal body organ failure. My father had been drawing army pension.
We have received all the full and final from Bank except Bank contribution in Provident Fund of deceased employees account which is partial PF amount. When I asked about it then Bank Manager showed me that your father had opt for Regular pension scheme rather than commuted amount after retirement. Therefore your mother will not be given commuted amount however she can have Bank pension only if she presents a proof in written from Army pension department (Department of Pension Disbursing Office-DPDO) mentioning that deceased pension has been stopped and the same answered by the AGM-OPR (Assistant General Manger-Operation of Central Bank Of India).
According to AGM Central Bank of India there is provision of only one family pension as per IBA guidelines and therefore you mother can have only one pension either from Bank or Army not from both. So eventually my mother decided to draw Army Pension and had to drop Bank Pension.
However, I have seen similar cases where dual pension is granted to widow where her husband served in Indian army and State Bank of India. When the entire Bank comes under IBA guidelines then why this disparity exist. I guess I have been misinformed by bank official about dual pension. So I requesting from this RTI application to provide me right information as this is matter of livelihood of widow and her family.
Please clear questions mentioned below:-
Will my mother entitled to receive the Bank Contribution in PF of deceased employees account since she has not been given Pension by Bank either?
What about the Compound/Commuted Amount? My mother has neither received Bank contribution in PF of deceaseds account nor banks pension?
Is Dual Family Pension admissible in Bank? (Dual Family Pension is admissible in Army.)
A RTI application filed on 27.01.2014 with registration number DOFSR/R/2014/60229 to the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. My request has been transferred to bank official however i did not receive any response by bank.
pls help me.. need ur precious advice.
