DOMESTIC VIOLENCE Act criminal procedure to be applied even by family court?

A divorce case has been filed by a lady in a family court. Can she file a domestic violence case in the same court in the same case or should she approach the criminal court?

Divorce cases are filled at family court.

Domestic violence case is of criminal nature need to be filled at criminal court.
