I am going to buy a resale flat at Kolkata. I donot have any prior experience of buying a property. Before proceeding towards the purchase of the flat , I would like to know the followings:
1) Legal documents that the seller should provide me before buying the flat.
2) Necessary checks before buying the said flat. Kindly mention the Govt Departments / Authorities and the time it takes.
3) Is there any such government/ banking portal from where I can come to know if the said property is not mortgaged with any financial institutions.
4) Is there any insurance policy to protect my interest against seller for buying the said flat. ( If any such circumstances arise in future)
I will take seek service of a lawyer to carrying out the necessary procedures.
