Doctor's logbook

I am a surgeon from Kerala. I was working with a private hospital for 6 years and recently moved to another hospital. I requested the previous employer for my last 2 years logbook which basically is a statement of the different surgeries done by me over the last 2 years. I needed it to apply for a job abroad for which it is mandatory. However, that hospital management is refusing to issue it. Are they legally bound to issue it? What do I do now?
