No Hindu can have a Second wife during the living relationship of First wife.
If first wife is died, then the second wife can get her status as wife.
If second marriage happen after death of first wife, then the second wife is the legally wedded wife.
In all the cases, children born to them have equal value

Are there any provisions to marry a 2nd wife when 1st wife is alive ?
Like with the consent of 1st wife, etc.?
