Discrimination in Islamic Inheritance? Women aare helpless?

Respected Sir, My client is a poor muslim widow. her husband moved leving behind one daughter and 10 acrs of self acqired agricultural land. after the death of husband the greedy relative such as brother of her husband started claiming share in the property the women is help less in muslim law. please explain the law of inheritance in which way we can help her.
