Credit Card Due

I had a HDFC Credit Card since 2012. Due to financial catastrophe the last payment I could make was not later than June 2014. The Outstanding was ~₹98000. I didn't make any payment nor did I acknowledged any debt since June 2014. Now HDFC called me in Feb 2018 asking me to make the payment. They say I can even pay ₹2000 monthly. My question is whether as per the Limitation Act am I still liable to pay or the time for debt has expired as there was neither a payment nor an acknowledgement during the 3 years.

It's better to contact consumer law attorney or bankruptcy attorney since it's not like you can ignore this debt, still if you cannot afford to pay it off and you start by paying off small amounts, you may restart the statute of limitation.
