Cousin's in laws asking for money after his death

My cousin died after 20 days of marriage in an accident last month. His wife was at her family house. She didn't come on his funeral. Today we got call from her father asking for money they have spent on wedding and share of property. We have already returned every (furniture and other items) wedding gifts. Do we also have to give them that money they spent on wedding and property. My aunt is poor they have nothing more than 250sqft home.

No, you didn't have to return any money which they had spend on marriage ceremony, what property they demand, is there any property in your cousins name, if property is in his name and he didn't made his will then his property will divide in two equal parts, 1/2 share to his wife and 1/2 share to his mother.

laxmikant sir is right in his advice.only if your cousin had got any self aquired property then his wife can claim share in it as she is a class 1 legal heir along with his mother.other than this they cant claim marriage expenses and all but she can claim her sreedhan as it is regarded as her property
