consumer fourm

R/sir/madam,

                                   sir here i would like to discuss a legal technical question with you if A is owner of a cold storage. he installed a comercial electricity connection in his cold storage. if he had any dispute with electricity bord from where he got connection. if he filed a complaint before the consumer forum he is a conumer or not according to the consumer protection act because he got commercial connection and use for commercial purpose and one thing is that he earn his livelihood.

No he is not a consumer. The electric connection is for running cold storage, a commercial activity.

but sir on the other side he earn his livehood and he is a consumer of electricity board

some consumer though buying goods for commercial activities are 'consumer' within the scope of CPA such as a small dealer who buys a photostat machine to earn his livelihood, a taxi driver who buys a vehicle for self employment etc. A cold storage owner will not fall in this category.
