Code of conduct outside office

If employee has argument in any hotel (personal visit) where employee gets 10 percent discount being an employee of a particular company, manager of the hotel complaints it to the company where employee is working. There is no police complaint regd this.

1. Does it come under code of conduct

2. If this does not come under code of conduct and still employee issues warning letter referring this incidence at the hotel, can any action be taken against employer?

3.  Is this employer's encroachment in employee's personal/social life? If it is violation from employer, pl let me know the IPC for the same.

If you’re using company name for getting discount then definitely your activities are effecting reputation of the company.

You cannot say this is personal act as you has used company name for taking discount.

Dear friend,

Yes, the employee got discount because he is an employee of that organization hence the management is having every right to initiate disciplinary action on the employee.  Because of the misbehavior of the employee the company's image is getting damaged so it is the right of the company. You should also note that because you are an employee of their trusted customer they might have allowed you to go and informed to the company or otherwise they would have handed you orver to the police by lodging a case against you.  You should be thankful to the company rather than finding fault with the company.
