I am new to this forum and I am new to the legal proceedings as well.
Recently I met with an car accident on Sep 23,2012 with minor injuries like neck sprain e.t.c but with major damages to my car. Actually this accident was happened when I am waiting in the signal along with the other cars near area porur,chennai. I am one of the car's waiting in the last row. Suddenly I felt a big jerk and this was happened due to the negligence of a driver who came and hitted me at a speed of 90-100. Due to that my car hit the front car as well which makes a very small dent on the back side of the front car.
Due to that my car got damaged in both front and back sides.After that I waited for the traffic police to get it resolved but he had taken only the contact details and suggested me, "please come and meet me in the pallavaram police station tomorrow to get FIR for claiming insurance".
On Sep 24,2012, I approached the authorized service center to clear all my car damages using the car insurance I have. Insurance guys accepted the accident and approved the claim with the photographs I have given with out FIR. Finally this situation made me to pay 10,000 Rs. from my pocket excluding insurance claim to the authorized service center.
I have only the car registration number of that person who did this accident.
Is there any way can I claim the remaining money excluding insurance claim from the person who did this accident?
