citations in legal law

sir. what is citation, who creates it, where does it reported and registered and what is the authentication for it ?, kindly help me.

Citation means reference, usually we give citations from reported Supreme or high court judgments .

The books are also referred , the author of book.

The Judgments are reported or un-reported and reported judgments are published in journals, books    magazines, series etc,.
