Cancellation of offer letter

Dear Expert Sirs,

Please advise me that once we issue a offer letter to the candidate and he accept the offer and based on our offer,  resign from his present employer, but due to some reason or financial crunch in my organization , I want to cancel his offer letter or candidature ship, can I cancel his offer letter or what will be the legal consequence ?

Regards,

OP Sharma

Hope you shall take it positively.

It is no excuse!

He shall become eligible to claim and you shall become liable for damages/compensation.

Don't play with anyone's career and life in such manner.

If you have no funds to recruit/pay the employees better pay in time to whatever staff you have and appraise them in a very transparent manner to look for other ventures and close the company subsequently.

Or improve the financial health of the company with focused and determined efforts with whatever resources you have and once you have margins and reserves go and recruit.
