can we go for Lie detector test in order to prove extra marital affairs?

Lie detector is not the favourable books of law.

It is not  just  like having apple from the tree to go for lie detector test

If some people are having extra-marital affairs why do you bother so long as it is not your own wife?   Having extra-marital affairs is no more a criminal offence after the repeal of Section 497 IPC by the Supreme Court. Lie detectors are used in the case of criminal offences.
