Can rupee sign be used in the name and register it as tradem

Hello,

I want to Registered a trademark and instead of 'R' in it, i want to use the new rupee symbol.

It will be a full name with only R as new rupee symbol.

Can we use it and register for trademark? and later on for copyright?

Is it permissible ?

Ex: Used in Kaun banega crorepati logo.

No you cant use "that" symbol as its not allowed, you have to use "TM" till registration and "R" after registration of your trademark and nothing apart form that as per Trademark Act, 1999.

The new rupee symbol can be used to represent  rupee only and not for any other purpose. As regards trademark one can use the symbol R to represent that the trademark is registered. R represents registered trademark.Hence both are different.
