Can i run my ca office in my own flat?

I own a Flat in Chennai. I intend to occupy the same and have my Professional office in the Flat.

Some People say that i can do that since my profession is not a commercial activity involving transport of goods which is going to be a disturbance for others and also after converting my EB connection tariff.

Some people say that the association may object to this and may disconnect my water and EB connection.

Can any one give me a clear position of the same.

TIA

- Priya

1.  Professionals (CA, Doctor, Architect, Lawyer .... ) are lawfully entitled to conduct their office work from their own residences (either in part /full portion), without any further reference to any Association or Society rules or laws.

2.  The Association or Society has no legal authority to disconnect Water and/or Electricity connection, which shall be a criminal offene, since Water /Electricity is covered under the Essential Service Act.
