Can builder cancel my booking without send a final mail/post

Dear Sir, We had done a booking with Ansal API in gurgaon, ( Project name : Essencia ). Total value of property is 1.90 cr and we paid 20% as per the stipulated time and then wanted to apply for home loan. Ansal did not help much with the financing so we after a lot of running around applied through HDFC. 1 week back the loan got approved and we just need one document now from Ansal. When we contacted then for the same we have been  told that the unit was cancelled 2 weeks back and the complete 20% will be forfeited.

We did not receive any email or letter from them regarding cancellation. now they are asking for a revival fee (approx 5 lacs). How should we deal with the situation. Is it not mandatory to send a final notice of cancellation to us.

Kindly advise. We would seek legal help as soon as possible.

You immediately issue legal notice and ask for document which HDFC required for grant of  housing loan and do not mention he orally told you that  unit was cancelled 2 week back. If no response you approach consumer court immediately for the relief you seek.
