Betterment charges\tax for building approval

HI All,

We have one plot in an UnApproved layout in AndhraPradesh, when i am planning to take building plan approval to build a home there, i came to know like betterment charges will be collected in an unapproved layouts. But i am not sure what is the percentage of betterment charges collected.

From one of my friend i came to know like 14% of the registered value will be colleted as betterment tax. i.e if land registered cost is 4 lacks the tax is around 64,000 Rs. Additonally we have remaining taxes as per building area.

Whether 14% betterment charges is correct information? Please help us if any one know the information.

You can gather correct and proper information about the applicable rates for betterment charges on such homes to be constructed in the unapproved layouts from the concerned authorities namely The City corporation authority and the City development authority. Donot be misguided on hearsay information.
