Hey

Article 15(2) states that

No citizen shall, on grounds only of religion, race, caste, s*x, place of birth or any of them, be subject to any disability, liability, restriction or condition with regard to

  •  access to shops, public restaurants, hotels and palaces of public entertainment; or
  •  the use of wells, tanks, bathing ghats, roads and places of public resort maintained wholly or partly out of State funds or dedicated to the use of the general public

Article 16(2)

No citizen shall, on grounds only of religion, race, caste, s*x, descent, place of birth, residence or any of them, be ineligible for, or discriminated against in respect or, any employment or office under the State

The prohibited grounds of discrimination under Article 16 (2) are somewhat wider than those under Article 15 (2) because Article 16 (2) prohibits discrimination on the additional grounds of descent and residence apart from religion, race, caste, s*x and place of birth.

Hope this helps

Hello,
Article 15(2) and 16(2) of the Indian Constitution both talk about the prohibition of discrimination on the grounds of religion, race, caste, s*x, descent, place of birth, residence or any of them.

Article 15(2) talks about the prohibition of discrimination on the above grounds and also if the person is subject to any disability, liability will not be restricted to

(a) access to shops, public restaurants, hotels and palaces of public entertainment; or
(b) the use of wells, tanks, bathing ghats, roads and places of public resort maintained wholly or partly out of State funds or dedicated to the use of the general public.

Article 16(2) talks about the prohibition of discrimination on the grounds of religion, race, caste, s*x, descent, place of birth, residence or any them will be confined to employment or office under the state, meaning services under the Central and State Governments and their instrumentalities.

Regards,
Joy Bose

What do you expect from experts, should we write the answer and you may copy paste and show your home work ???

Your views are depriciating.

You being a student should study the concerned material and should prepare your assignment accordingly rather making copy and paste.
