Asokan Vs Sreenivasan

The appellant is the cabinet minister of the State of Rajasthan and the respondent is the editor of a weekly 'Rajasthan Times'.  The weekly contained some defamatory news items and photographs of appellant and his wife, family members including minor daughter.  The appellant has filed writ petetion with the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India claiming damagous for 1 crore and also for permenent injuction restraining defendent from printing publishing and circulating the defamatory news items as it amounts to violation of their right to privacy under Art 21 of the constitution.

Issues

1. Whether the writ petetion is maintainable or not.

2. Whether violation of their right to privacy is connected with the case under Art. 21 Art 19 (1) A

3. Whether the appellant can apply for permanent injuction against the respondant

4. Whether the appellant can be claimed by the appellant.
