Adverse possession of house and adjacent land.

Sir, I have a house and some free land adjacent of my house. I live there more than 12 years. It is 6 decimal plot. I bought 5 decimal from the previous owner and 1 decimal was in my possession for more than 12 years because there was no actual owner of that land at that time. I was paying land tax of 6 decimal for more than 12 years. Now my neighbour doing a court case claiming that he has also some land in my property. My question is that here adverse possession would be applicable or not. Because I am paying land tax and municipality tax for this property more than 12 years.
Now my neighbour want land from my property. If adverse possesion applicable in my case I would like to know my tax receipts i.e. land and municipality tax receipts can be used as proof of my adverse possession.

Dear querist,

As your neighbor has not claimed his right from 12 years over land and land is in your possession from last 12 years, your adverse possession claim is maintainable as per law of land.

In court my land tax receipt and municipality tax receipts of more than 12 years over that land can be useful to prove my adverse possession I mean to say what documents will be needed in court to prove my adverse possession over the land.
