i am a married woman and wish to add my husbands last name to my existing maiden name in the passport. can i do that?? nowadays everyone seems to be able to do it( eg aishwariya rai bachhan) what all documents are required for it? pls help ASAP.

i have my marriage certificate. it says XY(female) is married to AB(male). now i want my name to be as XYB on the passport.

Do a name change through a newspaper announcement and take the copy of that announcement with your marriage certificate to the passport office.
Usually marriage certificate is not necessary for name change in passport.
