13B Applicable to Chandigarh(UT)

Hi,

Could a single petition be filed for multiple tenants who are to be evicted from SCO and who are having the same law for eviction of the SCO . Petition U/s 13-b of the East Punjab Urban Rent Restriction Act, as adopted by the chandigarh Administration vide Notification dated 9.10.2009, for eviction of tenants.

no doubt EPURA, 1949 has been extended to the UT Chandigarh as well.

 

but for multiple tenants its advisable to file a separate eviction petition, qua separate tenants the cause of action is separate so separate set of grounds will be taken and separate evidence will be lead.  Had it been a case of co-tenancy then there could be a single eviction petition against all the tenants.
