The Madhya Pradesh Judicial Service (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994 have been amended by the state's governor after consulting with the high court.

The eligibility requirements for taking the Civil Judge Junior Division Examination have undergone the most significant change.

Amendments in method of Appointment:

Candidates belonging to the general and OBC Category must secure at least 60% marks and candidates from reserved category (SC and ST) must secure at least 55% marks in the preliminary examinations

In Mains- candidates belonging to general and OBC Category must secure at least 50% and for candidates belonging to reserved category (SC and ST) must secure at least 45% marks in each paper and at least 50% in aggregate in the main examination.

Candidates must secure at least 40% marks in Interview.

ELIGIBILITY

According to the revised Rule 7, applicants must have a bachelor's degree in law, be outstanding law graduates with a stellar academic record, have "passed all exams in the first attempt" and receive "at least 70% marks" overall for the general and OBC categories, or have continuously practiced as an advocate for not less than three years on the last date set for application submission.

Candidates from the SC and ST categories must receive at least 50% of the total marks. Three years of relevant experience was not previously required, and there was no minimum aggregate score for the Bachelor of Law.

 The minimum age requirement for eligibility has not changed; it is now 21 years old or younger as of the first day of January of the year following the year in which applications for appointment are invited.

Upper age limit shall be relaxable up to a maximum of three years if belongs to the SC, ST or OBC and Specially abled persons. 

The upper age limit of a candidate who is government servant (whether permanent or temporary) shall be relaxable up to the age of 38 years.

The eligibility criteria for seeking benefits under Rule 7 for specially abled Persons shall be under-

1. For the purpose of getting benefit of this provision, the certificate issued only by the Medical Board of Central/ State Government shall be valid;

2. On the date of submitting the application for the post, the applicant’s Specially able ness shall not be less than 40%

Disqualification Rule 8

A person shall be disqualified for appointment by direct recruitment, if he/she – has more than one spouse living, has been dismissed or removed from service by any High Court , Central or State Government, Statutory Body or Local authority;

Has been convicted for an offence involving moral turpitude or has been permanently debarred or disqualified by any High court or Union Public Service Commission or any Services Selection Board;

Has been involved in such criminal case which In the opinion of the Appointing Aurthority is not suitable to discharge the functions as a Judicial officer;

Has been found guilty of professional misconduct under the provisions of the Advocates Act, 1961 or any other law for the time being in force;

Has accepted or accepts dowry at the time of his marriage.(Dowry definition as assigned to it in Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.
