The person should file the case either in defendants place if the defendant also resides at the plaintiff's place or at the place where property is situate.So by strict interpretation of law the jurisdiction for the suit lies-in Chennai where the property is situate.If you appreciate this answer please click the thank you button on my profile.

My question is related to heirship that person died in mumbai but his property is in Chennai but his wife is applying for heirship certificate in mumbai but In court judge said to give citation how we can grant heirship certificate in mumbai property is in Chennai so pls if any citation is there pls let me know
