Associate membership cooperative society

(Querist) 04 July 2013 This query is : Resolved
Can the Cooperative Housing Society admit an associate member in the following circumstances?

-The member is physically ill for last 3/4 years and the stability of mental health is a questionable fact.

-The same member has always communicated under his signature but has given consent for admitting the associate member by way of thumb impressions which have been witnessed by two committee members with questionable intent of procuring the associate member's vote?

What steps can be taken to resolve such situation?

Thank You Gentlemen. Finding an evidence in these circumstances is tough unless the Society is willing to find an evidence. However, the situation is peculiar as there is a split in the MC and a tussle exists between the Chairman and two MC members on one side and the Secretary and treasurer on other side. Only the Registrar can come and investigate and clear out wheat from chaff.

The notice of the MC which met to discuss the application for Associate Membership does mention that the original member is not keeping well. Hope to draw registrar's attention on this point.

Thank you Sirs!!

You have no other option but to approach the registrar in the given circumstances and it shall further be good to get appointed an administrator and fresh elections of the society.
