I would like to know what action can a society take if flat is rented without its permission

It is depends on bye laws of the Housing Society framed it own,they can cancel membership only. But society have no right regarding title,rent and transfer of the flat.

It can definitely take action but not beyond its bye-laws duly admitted by all its members.

Look into bylaws about action if any at all can be taken,if they are silent no action would be possible.

society can issue notice to member . it can take disciplinary action against said member , impose penalty on the member .inform the cops that flat has been given on rent without society permission and police verification
