Sign of redevelopment consent by nominee on behalf of flat owner

My father made me nominee of the flat. Now building is going for redevelopment and the secretory of the bldg. told me that I can sign concent for redevelopment on my father's behalf because father is staying in village. He also told me that I will get all cheques for rent and corpus fund in my name. Is it possible?
And I have one more doubt, as per law my mother is legally nominee or my father can make me nominee of the flat.

ask your father to execute power of attorney in yor favour . you have noright to sign for redevlopment of property on your father behalf

Your father can appoint any of you as nominee.
For better handling the property in absence of your father, it would be better if you get such POA executed in your favour.
