Hi experts,
I was harassed for dowry and within 6 months of marriage, there was htting and beating which resulted in lodging of an fir against husband and in laws.
My husband bid his time and as soon as an year of marriage completed, he filed for divorce under hma on grounds of cruelity. No where did he mention the impending fir on him in his petition. Except for one summon received by a male member in my family, there has been none issued or received. The case status shows w.s. in the ecourt website and my local lawyer is suggesting to continue this without filing any objection for few more months to make the petitioner anxious. I do not want divorce but instead want a proper counselling as I believe no issues are big enough which cannot be sorted by mutual talks, neither do i plan to ask for any interim or permanent monetary relief, given that I am earning myself. On the other hand, since the criminal case was lodged, my husband has been on medical leave from his job and I have this.knowledge that he is undergoing treatment for depression.
Since I am unable to travel to where the petition is filed, I'd applied to get the case transferred to different state in SC, which got dismissed providing options of video conferencing.
Please advise if this strategy of not filing any objection is right course or could it backfire? Additionally, how long would the case be dragged under the same status of w.s.
Also suggest if I can request dismissal of case given that facts were hidden in the first place regarding existing case and also that the divorce petition was filed as a counter blast to fir against them? Another thing is, can this knowledge that my husband is undergoing some psycatric treatment, genuine or otherwise be used to question whether he is fit to take such decision of ending the relationship?
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

File the W.S. immediately on next date fixed for it otherwise the court will struck down your defence and proceed ex-parte against you.
Defend the divorce case and workout the criminal complaint filed and registered as FIR with police for putting more pressure on your husband.
Depression is just an excuse to show act of cruelty being committed against him otherwise he's fine, all this being workout under the instructions of his lawyer.
Change your lawyer in Family court as he doesn't seems to be competent enough.

Even otherwise also, an infant of 2 years age can also not be expected to give any advice. Who can be the person, in the name of Rajendra K Goyal, hiding his face behind a kid, who is flashing the message and for what purpose can be anybody's guess.

I hope, you would have already seen my suggestion for you at the following thread:

However, since you have repeated the same post about your point about posing master of the forum/ club/ knowledge/ intelligence, fact, I may also like to repeat my suggestion here also.
Not only me, but every reader would have observed that only you and your close associate, Mr. Kumar Doab have been working in such a fashion to dominate over the LCI, the other experts and the querists, as if the LCI is the personal estate/ domain of the you two feudal lords.
In fact, due to multiples of vague and irrelevant posts of both of you, many real experts would have tried to respond to the problems of the querists to avoid any misunderstanding about them in the minds of the querists.
Question arises, when both of you don't know even ABC of most of the topics, why you people venture to make vague, irrelevant and meaningless posts against every query. If you think mere adding irrelevant posts after posts is the yardstick of your recognition as an expert, you may be living only in world of fools. Better demonstrate your real expertise in giving realistic and practicable advice, if you actually know something. Otherwise, you are gradually losing your own credibility day after day due to such vague and irrelevant posts.
