Could you please help me with procedures to get a new birth certificate for 1988 born in a village in Tamil Nadu Dharmapuri district.?!
It is really urgent to get it in a month maximum from now.

Apply for New Birth certificate for the child born in 1988 in Municipal corporation or Municipality or Registrar of births and deaths and acquire y0ur child's birth certificate.

I am not sure how should Frame my need as a sentence.
People say there are so many procedures like need to publish in the newspaper and the need to go to the court and all such things. But I am not clear about the procedure . Though I have given the details to a lawyer to apply certificate for me, I did not get any details from him what he would do and how many days it would take. Hence I needed the clear view.

Thanks for reply: but I am unable to go to my place for approaching the authorities. I have such a situation.
So I asked my relatives to deal with this, but these people are not aware of what should happen neither me.
