Registration of marriage

I am living in Trichy, Tamil Nadu and I want to register my son's marriage. The official charge is approximately Rs.100-150/- only. But all the Registrars in Trichy area and his staff are not allowing us to contact them directly. They are directing us to mediators and they are demanding Rs.3000/-. Otherwise, they will turn down the application on one ground or the other.
When all the documents are perfect and marriage is conducted as per Hindu Marriage Act, whether they can refuse to register or delay the regn.
Kindly clarify.

Apply to the District Authority and zonal/divisional authority complaining against the registering authority for not properly guiding you. finally ask them under RTI.

Whether online registration facility has come in existence in the district, if yes, you can avail.

Dear Friends
The office persons saying to contact a lawyer or other outsider and we all advise the same.
I think if we have no answer it is highly advisable to not to answer such a hard query.
The advise is to keep patient. fill up an application, meet to the officer and not to clerks. Ask him about complete formality. The registration of marriage is really tough job.
You should note
The registration is only at that place where marriage actually solemnized.
You should have photos of marriage, some affidavits proving marriage like parents of both side, relatives and friends attending marriage, Pandit performing it.
A present joint photo also required.
you keep patient and you will get the certificate certainly.

I am going to conduct my son's marriage ie. after a month only and I went to check the procedure. Even if everything is perfect, they are demanding Rs.3000/- through mediators. I thoroughly know the procedure. But from all the people going there, they are demanding money for regn.
