Reciept of survival benefit of rs.80,000=00 fom lic not intimated to the dept. under rule18(3)

I am a Central Govt. Employee .I have recieved Rs.80,000=00 of Suvival Benefit from LIC a year ago ,about which I had not infomed my Dept. under Rue 18(3) of CCS Conduct Rules.
Will I be punished for this?

What is the real problem?
Had you informed your department at the time of buying the policy for which you received survival benefit?

You may have been informing in regard of policy yearly while informing your deductions for IT calculations.
You also may have informed details of policy to your department.
You can inform the fact now with regret if giving information, if any action has not already been initiated.

Informing the policy in IT retiurn to the DDO does nto supplement need of intimation of the same under CCS(Conduct) rules
please read rule 18(3) of CCS (conduct0 rules
[(3) Where a Government servant enters into a transaction in respect of movable property either in his own name or in the name of the member of his family, he shall, within one month from the date of such transaction, report the same to the prescribed authority, if the value of such property exceeds two months’ basic pay of the Government servant:
Provided that the previous sanction of the prescribed authority shall be obtained by the Government servant if any such transaction is with a person having official dealings with him.]
