How do i verify the background of any lawyer?
Basically wanted to check if the lawyer is experienced and is a registered lawyer.
Any quick way to find out online.

Make some personal effort. Watch him fighting the cases in court room battles.

Devajyoti- I didn't quite understand your response.I meant the experience part if one wants to know if he/she is the right lawyer to handle a particular case.

There is no such mechanism. One has to find out only by making proper enquiries.

Personal inquiry from the court premises(from venders,photostat shop and others), observation, interaction with the lawyer,information from friend and relatives are some of the practical approach.

If the lawyer do practice in high court or Supreme Court of India then then the cause lists can be got checked which if contain the name of that lawyer since the long time then it can safely be presumed that such lawyer is having much experience but after all the track record of that particular lawyer is required to be known from and around court campus.
