Inheritance of paternal property by daughter

(Querist) 03 March 2015 This query is : Resolved
Father died 20 years back. A hand written family agreement was made by the eldest son, a senior lawyer for partition of the landed property where he gave a wrong statement that father had already given his land to the sons. A small part of mothers land was given to daughters. Signatures of all inheritors were taken on blank papers for getting the agreement typed. On the blank signed paper the agreement was typed that is different than the hand written one that deprives daughters as some land is still in fathers name. The hand written agreement is with eldest son and he is not giving copy to the others nor discussing it. Kindly suggest what best can be done.

From the information furnished, the document is not registered. The daughters can file a suit for partition.

I agree with the experts views that it is a fit case for a partition suit. Consult your lawyer and proceed.

You are welcome for your appreciations.

Thank u all. The eldest brother is very senior lawyer who is doing all these things. Hence, no local lawyer is interested to take up our case. Can the daughters file suit for partition without a lawyer? Kindly give brief procedure. Whom (Govt officer) they should approach and with what documents?

Regards
