Party Not Barred From Raising New Grounds To Set Aside Award In An Section 37 Appeal

The name of the case was State of Chhattisgarh v. Sal Udyog Private Limited. The decision was given by a bench which consisted of CJI NV Ramana, Justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli. The Supreme Court held that a party is not barred from raising an additional ground for setting aside an arbitration award in arbitration appeal under Section 37 of the Arbitration Conciliation Act,1996, merely because the said ground was not raised in the petition under Section 34 to set aside the Arbitration award.

Conviction Based On Disclosure Statement Can Be Sustained Only When Resultant Recovery Is Unimpeachable

The name of the case is Bijender @ Mandar v. State of Haryana. The decision was given by a bench which consisted of CJI NV Ramana, Justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli. As per the opinion of the Bench, to convict an accused exclusively on the basis of his disclosure statement and the resultant recovery of inculpatory material, the recovery should be unimpeachable and not be shrouded with elements of doubt.

Supreme Court Adjourns Plea Seeking Disclosure Of COVID Vaccine Clinical Trial & Efficacy Data

The name of the case was Jacob Puliyel v. Union of India and Ors. The decision was given by the bench of Justices LN Rao and AS Oka. Delhi Bar Association To Abstain From Work Over Judgment Convicting Rajiv Khosla

The Coordination Committee of All District Court Bar Associations of Delhi has unanimously resolved to go on complete abstinence of work in the district courts against the recent judgment convicting former Delhi High Court Bar Association President Rajiv Khosla for assaulting a woman lawyer Sujata Kohli in the year 1994.This comes after Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Gajender Singh Nagar of the Tis Hazari Court recently convicted Khosla in the matter.
