SC: Impermissible For Co-Operatives To Deny Membership To Single Women

It has been held by the Supreme Court that denial of membership to single women, members of a particular community and people who eat particular food is not permissible by co-operative societies. This decision was given by a bench of Justices D Y Chandrachud and A S Bopanna. The case in question was of Punam Co-Operative Housing Society Ltd. v. Alok Agarwal &Ors.

SC: HC Must Give Reasons For Issuance Of Interlocutory Direction At Interim Stage

According to the decision given by the Supreme Court, the High Courts have to furnish reasons for issuing an interlocutory direction at an interim stage while exercising jurisdiction under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. This decision was given by a bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and BV Nagarathna. The case in question was Jitul Jentilal Kotecha v. State of Gujarat.

SC: Homebuyers Are Entitled To Recover Amount Invested As Land Revenue Arrears From Builder

With respect to Section 40 of the RERA, the Supreme Court has held that homebuyers are entitled to recover amount invested along with the interest as land revenue arrears from the builder. This decision was given by a bench comprising Justices UdayUmeshLalit, Ajay Rastogi and Aniruddha Bose. The name of the case was Newtech Promoters And Developers Pvt. Ltd. v. State of UP.

Merely Having An Explicit Cause Is Not Sufficient To Make Time The Essence Of The Contract

According to the judgment given by the Supreme Court, to make time the essence of the contract, it is not sufficient to merely have an explicit cause. The decision was given by a bench comprising CJI NV Ramana and Justice Surya Kant. The name of the case in question is Welspun Specialty Solutions Limited v. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.
