Supreme Court Emphasizes On The Need To Write Short And Clear Judgements

The Supreme Court has emphasized the need to have more crisp, clear and concise judgements that the litigants can understand. It has also stated that the time for oral submissions by lawyers should be restricted. The decision was given by the Bench comprising Justice S K Kaul, Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice Hrishikesh Roy. The Bench also noted that the judicial system is built for the common man. The case was Ajit Mohan V. Legislative Assembly, Nation Capital Territory of Delhi.

Allahabad HC Seeks Reply From SP As To Why Woman Objected To Matrimonial Cruelty Being Forced To Go Back To Husband's House By The Police

The Allahabad High Court has asked for a clarification from the Senior Superintendent of Police, Aligarh and Superintendent of Police, Kasganj as to why a woman who had been thrown out of her matrimonial home was being forced to go back to her husband by the police. The Bench consisted of Justice J J Munir. It was noted that forced reunion with her husband would endanger the woman’s life and she would be a victim of matrimonial cruelty. The case is of Baby & Anr. V. State of UP & 6 Ors.

Punjab And Haryana HC Rules That Anticipatory Bail Of Juvenile Under Sec. 438 CrPC Not Maintainable

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has held that an application of anticipatory bail filed under Section 438 of the CrPC by a juvenile is not maintainable. The bail is granted to a juvenile in a bailable or non bailable offence, notwithstanding any provision laid in the CrPC. Section 438 CrPC deals with grant of bail given in apprehension of arrest. The decision was given by Justice Rajesh Bhardwaj. The case was of Piyush (Minor) V. State of Haryana.

Madras HC Refuses To Hear Plea To Educate People To Respect When Referring To India

The Madras High Court has refused to hear a PIL that sought to educate the people of Tamil Nadu to respect the country and speak of it with patriotism, sovereignty and respect. The prayer in the plea has been termed as vague and misconceived. The said PIL has been disposed off by the Bench consisting of Justice T S Sivagnanam and Justice S Ananthi.
