The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) succumbs to the Coronavirus with two members being diagnosed positive with COVID-19.

The NCLAT had issued a notice dated July 2, 2020 ordering the suspension of all Court work including virtual hearings and filing in the Appellate Tribunal,till July 10, 2020for preventing any risks to human life and ensuring the personal safety of all concerned.

A staff member of the NCLAT had been tested positive for the virus on June 26, 2020 which had led to the sanitization and sealing of the tribunal premises till July 3, 2020.

Since the Hon'ble Acting Chairperson, Hon'ble Members, Officers of the Registry and the staff of NCLAT had come in direct or indirect contact with the COVID-19 affected person, they were required to undergo the test on June 29 & 30, 2020, during which another official was diagnosed positive for the virus.

In lieu of the order of suspension of Court work till July 10, the staff has been required to observe home quarantine and follow COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Government for the safety of their families and the society.
