Whether consumer courts have a jurisdiction in RTI matter?

One of our frinedson LCI has mentioned a following judgment passed by NCDRC regarding jurisdiction of consumer courts in RTI matters.

(Against the order dated 1.10.05 in Appeal No.244/04
of the State Commission, Karnataka)

Dr. S.P. Thirumala Rao
Consultant Physician
No.1138/3, Narayanasastry Road
Devaraja Mohalla ........ Petitioner
Mysore – 570 001
Municipal Commissioner
Mysore City Municipal Corporation
Sayyaji Rao Road.
Mysore – 570 024 …….Respondent

abvoe is the link to that judgment.

I find it to be a very interesting judgment and worth to be discussed here.  I can hope there will be a good discussion on the matter furhter there will not be any clash of egos while discussing the issue.

In Expert section I have already opined that RTI should be applicable. I have given one example also. I was not knowing this judgment. I have gone through it now. I should thank Mr. Kiran Kumar and the person who has forwarded this judgment to our members. I fully agree with the reasons and the conclusions.
