What to do next ?

Hello everyone, I applied to concern department for property card. In the application i provided all the necessary details including city servey number of my flat. There was not my name on the property card. when i inquired in registration office there is no record of convencey deed. i just have registered copy of  agreement for sale. agreement for sale was done by my father-in-law and he is no more now. My mother-in-law has only this copy of registered copy of agreement for sale and she did not know anything about it. pls guide me about convencyance deed and what should i do now ?
