validity of contract

are written contracts valid in the court of law if they were not made on a stamp paper, but just on the organisation's letter head?

If stamp duty application and not paid those contract are not admissible as evidence in court.

This is an MoU on the party's letter head and with their stamp and signature on each page......it was a lease agreement and the party is refusing to return the asset.....can we proceed legally?

in accordance with stamp act document may not b admissible but court has discretionary powers under section 151 of CPC. to entertain your case . if matter is grave and is fulfilling question of law and fact.

note: read section 17 and 18 of registration act. contracts may be in written or oral. practically u have entered into letter head than stamp paper which was supposed to be. it may reasonably reach the relevancy for consideration by court. try approaching advocate near u.
