I am a female employee of a Medical diagnostic chain in Mumbai and drawing a salary of 5000 INR per month.
My employer is deducting 500 INR as TDS from my salary and paying me a net salary of 4500 INR.
I understand that an employer can only deduct TDS for my salary is over and above 1.8Lacs INR.
I have spoken to my employer and they are saying that the deduction is legal and what ever is my salary 10% of that amount will be deducted as TDS, which i dont think is legal.
I really dont know how to go forward and stop this malpractice which the employer is doing.
