My father had purchased land in Gujarat in 1970 and the agreement was registered before the sub registrar. However, mutation entry may not recorded with Talati. It is also not mandaotry to record the same before TAlati as per law. However, ULC came into picture in 1976. somewhere in 1984-86 the Govt. has started procedure under ULC act and original owner had filed an affidavit that this land is belongs to me and is surplus. Govt. paid the compensastion to the original owner and take the possession in 1986. My father expired in 2007. We came to know about land documents etc. and after furtehr investigation came to know that the same is taken by Govt under ULC act. Land is still ideal and govt has not put the same in any use. We have send legal notice to govt dept. and received the reply that it is taken over under ULC and compensation paid to the owner. Whereas as per record we are owner. What is the remedy? and how to get back the land?
