Whats the exact procedure for transfer of judges of High Courts. I tried to find on the internet but nothing was conclusive. I think that a collegium of 5 senior most judges of Supreme Court including CJI decides on this and they are also obliged to consult the Chief Justices of the concerned High Courts.
Please let me know the exact procedure if I am wrong somewhere.

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of article 222 of the Constitution of India, the President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, can transfer any High Court Judge from One High Court to another High Court.

Yeah but in 1998 Supreme Court decided in some case that The CJI needs to consult a collegium of 4 seniormost judges of SC for transfer of judges of HC, in addition to the chief justices of the two high courts(one sending and the other receiving one).

Please read Article 222 of The Constitution of India. The President having a power to transfer the High Court Judges with the consultation of Chief Justice of India.
